Atlantik Elektronik expands LTE portfolio

Atlantik Elektronik, provider of innovative semiconductor solutions, presents the new Qualcomm based product family LTE-A Cat. 6 modules from Quectel and expands their LTE portfolio.
The LTE Advanced category 6 (Cat.6) LTE mobile modules based on broad support for Internet protocols as well as industry standard interfaces (USB driver Win-XP, 7/8/10, Linux, Android) which depend on longevity and reliability The modules are suitable to a wide range of M2M and IoT applications such as industrial router, home gateway, industrial PDA, rugged tablet PC, video surveillance and digital signage.
Quectel presents these new LTE modules in three different form factors: EG06, EP06 and EM06, to cover a wide range of applications. The EG06 is a LGA format module for SMD assembly. With the modules EP06 as mini PCIe board and the EM06l in M.2 format, applications with optional LTE insert can be made possible.
Adopting the 3GPP Rel. 12 LTE technology and thanks to carrier aggregation this new family can reach a data rate of 300Mbit/s in downlink and 50Mbit/s in uplink.
With the innovative EG06 module, with dimensions of 39,5mm x 37,0mm x 2,8mm, in a robust LGA package was placed a foundation stone for additional LTE modules. There are different variants for EMEA, Australia, Brazil, USA, Latin America as well as Asia/Pacific available.
The EG06 supports MIMO technology, a cutting edge antenna technology transmitting multiple data streams on multiple transmitters to multiple receivers.
EG06 supports Qualcomm® IZat™ location technology Gen8C Lite (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS). The integrale GNSS greatly simplifies product design, and provides quicker, more accurate and more dependable positioning capability.
A rich set of internet protocols, UART- and USB-host interfaces as well as various standard-interfaces extend the applicability of the hardware functionality of EG06.
First samples are expected for November / December and will be available at Atlantik Elektronik
